Life from the Loom

am.gabrie (pronounced “em-gabree”) was created by Amanda Gabriella Handojo with the intention to explore how textiles can live, evolve, and return—rather than simply exist and waste away. This project, Life from the Loom, focuses on biodegradable textiles as both a material exploration and a reflection on how we produce and consume.

Rooted in sustainability, craft, and natural transformation, the project invites you to reflect on the relationship between human and nature—a dialogue shaped by decay, reclamation, and care. Inspired by the works of artist Genevieve Ang, we explore the tension between creation and impermanence, asking: What does it mean to leave a trace on Earth that is respectful, not permanent?
